Longest Light: A Solstice Sunset Crater Ceremony

Saturday, June 20 2026

On the longest day of the year, we’ll gather inside the crater of Cinder Cone for a guided sunset meditation and ceremony.

This is a rare opportunity to descend into an extinct volcano within Lassen Volcanic National Park and sit together in stillness, held by the vastness of the landscape. We’ll work with the energy of the solstice, calling in clarity, connection, and a deeper sense of awe.

What to expect:

We’ll begin with a guided hike through striking lava beds and cinder fields, making our way up to the summit before descending into the crater for our practice. Afterward, we’ll hike back down together as the light begins to soften.

This is a moderate day hike (around 4 miles round trip with about 1,000' elevation gain) at a steady, supportive pace. Snacks and drinks will be provided.

Optional: You’re welcome to extend the experience with a casual campout nearby. Bring your own gear, food, and anything you need to be comfortable. Paddle boards encouraged for time on the lake.
